What This Position is About:
Reporting to the President, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a senior administrator responsible for the strategic financial management of the College.
The CFO provides leadership, strategic planning, and direction to administrators and staff overseeing financial and accounting services, controllership, payroll, budget, audit, financial reporting, and procurement.
As a member of the President's Senior Management Team, the CFO is a key leader who participates in the overall management of the College, sharing accountability for achieving the College's strategic and business plans.
Work Schedules:
This position is designated as a hybrid role with expected on-site attendance of 3 days a week or as required by the College.

What We Are Looking For:
Completion of a bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting or equivalent in a related field of study.
Professional Accounting designation required (CA/CPA). Must be in good standing in the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada organization, with direct experience with GAAP standards.
At least twelve (12) years of broad-based and progressive financial and accounting senior leadership experience in an academic or public sector institution leading multiple divisions/departments, as well as:
- Experience overseeing organizational financial management system/ERP (PeopleSoft).
- Budget development and implementation experience.
- Project management experience.
- Proficiency with computer technology (MS Office, Financial IT systems).
- Knowledge/experience with collective agreements, for academic and support staff, Ministry legislation, guidelines, and directives.
Additionally, experience and excellence in the following competencies:
- Strategic planning and management: Effective development and refinement of strategic business plans to lead, manage, evaluate, and enhance operational decision-making and performance.
- Analytical: Ability to synthesize financial information to monitor controls, mitigate risk, ensure effective investment of funds, and inform business plans.
- Stakeholder engagement: Mastery in engaging stakeholders and soliciting buy-in and support for decision-making.
- Communication: Excellent written, verbal, listening, and presentation skills across all organizational levels, including to the Board of Directors.
- Risk and issue management: Proficiency in identifying, managing, and mitigating risks and issues.
- Public speaking and presentations: Strong skills in delivering presentations and public speaking.
- Sound judgment and problem-solving: Demonstrated ability to make well-informed decisions and solve problems effectively.
- Networking and collaboration: Expertise in building relationships, networking, and collaborating with others.
- Coaching and team building: Strong coaching and team-building abilities.
- Customer service orientation: Commitment to providing excellent customer service.
- Negotiation and conflict resolution: Skilled in negotiating, consensus building, and resolving conflicts.
- Change management: Proficient in managing and leading change.
- Decision-making: Ability to make difficult decisions while maintaining an effective balance
